Insurance. Ask for a copy of their liability insurance.
Permit. Ask who gets the permit. It should be the company.
811. Ask for their 811 ticket number before digging.
Written contract. Full or partial, fill dirt, packing, haul-away, deck, permits, and what is not included.
Debris. Ask where debris goes. The city says demolition debris must go to an approved, permitted landfill.
More than one quote. Compare item by item.
No pressure. Be careful with anyone who rushes you or wants all the money up front.
